Siobhan qualified as a Solicitor in the Family Department in April 2022. Siobhan began her career at MSB as PA to Managing Partner, Emma Carey in 2019 before gaining a Training Contract in 2020. She trained under Family Partner, Nicola Harris. As a Trainee, she worked across a wide range of Private Children and Public Children matters. Siobhan gained experience on a complex published case; cases dealing with serious allegations including physical, emotional, and sexual abuse as well as Non-Accidental Injury Cases. Siobhan can represent parents in both private and public children matters. Siobhan can also deal with protective injunctions for both Applicants and Respondents. She also co-works on more complex cases with Partner, Nicola Harris. Siobhan has a particular interest in domestic abuse and working with vulnerable clients. Siobhan has been praised by clients for her calm and empathetic approach. She understands that instructing lawyers can be overwhelming. As an Applicant or Respondent in family proceedings, it can be an incredibly difficult and emotional time. Siobhan works closely with clients to ensure that they fully understand the Court process and takes a collaborative approach towards achieving the best possible outcomes for them. Siobhan is passionate about ESG and Access to Justice. Along with her colleague Jayde Meredith, she runs Blackburne House pro-bono Family Clinic on Thursdays. She is also proud to be a Trustee of CMAGIC, a new Gender Identity Collaborative to improve health care for non-binary and trans patients. She graduated from Goldsmiths, University of London in 2014 with a 2:1 in History and worked as a Business Development Manager and Bid Writer prior to undertaking an LLM Qualifying Law conversion at Liverpool John Moores University in 2018 and the Legal Practice Course, in 2019, leaving with a Distinction. Whilst at LJMU, she further developed a passion for Access to Justice and Justice for Women as a Volunteer for the Legal Advice Centre and being selected to be a Civil & Family Court personal support Volunteer. Siobhan represented the University as part of an international project, raising awareness of the UN Declaration on the Elimination of Violence Against Women. This led to her being presented with a Student Pro-Bono Award by the Attorney General at the House of Commons in 2019.
