I challenged a major UK university over their unlawful use of precarious fixed term contracts over many years. MSB helped with both the internal grievance and the external ACAS process. Because of the strength of the case that we assembled, there was a sharp U-turn by the institution before proceedings reached the tribunal stage. I was granted permanent status - my main aim - and the institution ordered a review of all staff. Large numbers have since been made permanent and achieved job security in light of this victory.
