Natalie qualified as a solicitor into the Crime team in September 2021, having completed her training with IBB. Since working within the Crime department, Natalie has conducted a range of Magistrates’ Court hearings in both Criminal quasi-criminal civil matters such as Sexual Risk Order proceedings. Natalie deals with all aspects of case preparation in both Magistrates’ and Crown Court matters, as well as conducting all hearings before the Magistrates’ Court, including Trials. Natalie has assisted senior fee-earners with the most serious of charges, notably achieving acquittal on charges of conspiracy to murder and firearms offences. Natalie has a keen eye for detail and is meticulous in her case preparation. Where appropriate, Natalie will always seek to make representations at an early stage in an attempt to have proceedings withdrawn or otherwise diverted away from the Courts. Notable cases: R v F – successfully argued that charges of 4x assault an emergency worker was not in the public interest to be prosecuted, resulting in the Crown withdrawing the charges prior to plea being entered. R v R – assisted in case preparation leading to acquittal to charges of conspiracy to murder and firearms offences, whereby she listened to poor quality audio recordings obtained by wiretap and was able to filter the audio frequency to establish that the Crown’s transcripts were not accurate and could be undermined. R v J – obtained a conditional discharge for a client who pleaded guilty to possession of over 40 wraps containing class A drugs. R v M – prepared the case of a third strike burglar who would ordinarily have been facing a minimum sentence of 3 years custody, whereby Counsel successfully argued that the statutory minimum term would be unjust and instead obtained a 3 year community order. Before joining IBB, Natalie worked as a Paralegal in both small and medium-sized private legal practices for 5 years. Her previous experience is in Family (Legal Aid), Commercial Property and Commercial and Corporate (including Commercial Dispute Resolution), where she has experience running her caseload under supervision.

    Good and professional service

    Outstanding solicitor !

    I had been accused of a serious offence , in which if I had been found guilty would have potentially ruined my life. Before finding IBB Law online I had trouble finding a firm that would take my case on due to having to change my plea to not guilty as the previous solicitor did not give me correct advice and failed to provide me with evidence/documentation. Ibb law immediately took on my case and assigned Natalie to it. Natalie has been outstanding throughout, every step of the way she has informed me of what’s happening behind the scenes and put my mind at ease. Natalie worked with the barrister before my trial and informed me of what would happen on the day, again putting my mind at ease. On the day of the trial the offence was dropped to a lower one which meant that I would not have certain things on my record and I was happy with the outcome of a fine and conditional discharge. A HUGE weight has been lifted off my shoulders and now I can get on with my life. Thank you so much!

    Drink whilst unfit to drive.

    Never heard this kind of charges before even being under the breath limit, police decided to charge me. Sometimes you have to be very careful with police. I had to go through a rough time googling to find the right solicitor most of them were scaremongering showing the worst outcome and trying to charge a hefty fee. I really do not know why I choose IBB solicitors. Natalie Demerist was my solicitor very calm and softly speaking, knew what she was doing without wasting any time, she dealt promptly with my case, My case was bit complicated as two county police were involved but with her professionalism she managed to convince the prosecutor and withdrew my charge and let me free without any disqualification or fines. I would really want to thank Natalie for taking my case and would want to recommend IBB solicitors hope they will keep up their good work and keep fighting for people like us who want to live a decent life but do not know what is on the corner. I would also like to thank Alexandra who always was calm and polite on the phone Thank you.
