extremely poor service
Beverley Morris and Co. (BM) have taken over four years to deal with a Will, and it is still not concluded. In fairness, there were complications not under the control of BM, but their constant delays, lack of communication, charges and unprofessionalism have been astounding. As but one example, Tina Chan, solicitor at BM, wrote to me on 28th February in response to a complaint from me. She said that she was waiting only for HMRC to complete, but would take the time whilst waiting to ensure everything was up to date. As it turns out, HMRC took nearly six months to respond - an abundance of time for the solicitor to ensure everything else was ready for completion of the Will’s terms. On the 22nd of August she wrote, again only as a result of my pushing, to say that she had received HMRC’s response, and would be responding to me shortly. On the 17th October, eight weeks after her mail to me, she wrote to the Executor to say “I have received a calculation from HMRC and hope to return to you next week” – i.e. almost the same as what she had said to me eight weeks previously, with seemingly no progress during that time! Not a competent or professional service.
