    Ridiculously complex and convoluted land dispute

    In 1965 my late great uncle "bought" a piece of land from his (late) neighbour in exchange for a brand new Morris 1100 and zero paperwork, and built part of his house on it. When I tried to sell the property in 2021, the late neighbours belligerent daughter claimed that the deal had never happened. Ruth Godfrey was magnificent during this process, continually providing balanced, sensible advice (initially to try and settle) despite several nonsensical curve-balls thrown by the aforementioned belligerent individual. The matter took some time to resolve, both with the adversary and Land Registry, but concluded with an award of Title Absolute and sale of the property at full market value. A great result!
