I was recommended these Solicitors by my chosen Estate agents to assist with conveyancing for a property I was selling. Their reviews were promising and I was keen to make the experience go as stress free as possible. There was very little contact in the first 5 months after agreement of sale and I just put this down to work being completed in the background. 6 months down the line I had to finally check on progress as the sale was meant to be simple, was chain free on both parties and I was concerned about the unstable way the property market and mortgages were playing out in the media.
I would have really appreciated a regular courtesy email to update on the situation rather than have to chase and rely on my estate agents for feedback (Hunters - who were excellent from start to finish). I resorted to having to send messages weekly to try and draw out information to what should have been an uncomplicated sale. I thank Jane Nightingale for the help she gave and I appreciate a lot of the barriers came from the buyers Solicitors dragging their heels.
Overall it was an ok experience and as a professional myself, I had higher expectations for the fees I was paying. I thank Howells for getting me through eventually, despite a weeks delay after agreed completion. Careless error on Buyers Solicitors part to request release of funds caused the delay and in my opinion should have been a fundamental task to do ahead of exchange and completion. I was fortunate not have booked removal vans etc…..

Invaluable find in the market of solicitors...
Words cannot express the experience, other than they was very professional at all time, there correspondence & communication was brilliant,& allways helpfull with all aspects of the law etc,especially with someone like me who was old school, & didn't understand the modern technology of downloading documents,it was no trouble for them to help get through the process signatures documentation..

Highly recommend
Used the service for conveyancing for my late parents home. Absolutely brilliant service, I was kept up to date all the way through and would definitely use them again.

Purchase of a Property
Jane and Stacey have been my solicitors and from the very beginning Jane has made me feel like I could ask any questions, put me at ease, made the process simple and straightforward and has always responded to me by phone and email when required. She has kept me up to date at all times and I have been very happy with the process. I haven’t personally spoken to Stacey but have been very happy with the speed and care she has provided with the process behind the scenes. I can imagine a lot of hard work is involved.
I will happily use Howells again.

Excellent Service and Very Professional
We used Howells and dealt with Jane Nightingale and Stacey Crane for the purchase of our property.
Jane and Stacey were both very professional and also very patient with me. When I was stressing out, they helped smooth things over and put my mind at ease. On moving day, everything went a little nuts (a problem caused by solicitors we used on the sale of our house) and Jane was excellent with keeping us up to date on how things were progressing as well as smoothing out a problem we had on the day. Put it this way, they are excellent in a crisis.
I would recommend them to friends and family and the wider public. You won't be disappointed. Although we won't be moving again any time soon, I would use them again without hesitation.
