Joanna advises on child related aspects of family law - in particular child care proceedings. She specialises in representing parents in cases where social services have concerns about a child; these cases often involve complex allegations of physical and emotional abuse and neglect. She also represents parents in disputes within the family about child contact, residence, international relocation and specific issues such as where a child goes to school. In addition to this Joanna regularly represents clients seeking injunctions as a result of abuse by a partner or ex-partner. Understanding that these situations are often extremely stressful for clients, she takes a pragmatic yet sensitive approach to each case with the aim being to reach a fair and constructive resolution so clients can move on with their lives in a positive way.
