I worked with Kay on a complex and emotionally difficult employment settlement earlier this year, and I can't recommend her highly enough. What I valued most was her honesty. From the first conversation, she was clear-eyed about the strengths and weaknesses of my position and gave me real advice rather than what I wanted to hear. When I was set on outcomes she thought were unrealistic, she said so. When she saw genuine leverage, she pushed hard. Her drafting is excellent, and her judgment about pace and strategy across a long negotiation was consistently sound. She was patient with me over months of back-and-forth, took time to explain her thinking, and let me drive the strategic decisions while making sure I had the information to make them well. Beyond the technical work, what stood out was her judgment on the human side. She noticed when I was making decisions under stress and gently pushed back when appropriate. She managed the pace to protect my wellbeing, not just my legal position. If you're facing an employment matter and looking for someone who will give you honest advice, work patiently through a complex situation, and treat you as a person rather than a case number, I'd recommend Kay without hesitation.

My case related to maternity discrimination, and I was on an extremely difficult path before I contacted the Employment Solicitors. I had another lawyer before then, who did not add value (in my opinion), and charged me dearly to review my own work, with very little changes made by them (if any). I was referred to ES by a friend and it was a breath of fresh air compared to my previous experience. Kay is very experienced and knowledgeable but also personable. She got it, and was clear in managing my expectations, where I stood legally and potential outcomes. She gave me time to make my decisions, and when I did make them, she executed the plan as agreed. She successfully secured me a settlement agreement that I was happy with. As I mentioned above, Kay is very personable and warm, and made me feel at ease. She recognised when I was drowning in anxiety and, when I was being rash (and a bit short!), and was patient, understanding and forgiving of me in those moments which I really appreciated. She also knew when to push on my behalf with the organisation and when enough was enough. I trusted her to make those calls.
