I was charged over a period of almost 3 years - excessively I felt for minimal progression of my divorce. My friend used her initially but moved solicitor as she had the same feeling of no progression and excessive costs so not a solo opinion. I decided to stay with her as felt easier but in the end I got my ex-husbands solicitor to lead as I have more confidence in them than I did her. I didn't feel she added anything to the divorce just billed for admin at a high rate and inconsequential details.

We are sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with the level of service that you received from us. We were not aware of any concerns that you had about the progression of your case, the costs incurred during course of the case or that your friend moved from us for a similar reason. We charge in accordance with our terms of engagement issued at the outset of the case and we only charge for the work that we undertake per instructions to progress a case to a conclusion. As you will appreciate there are often situations beyond our control that can give rise to a case taking a little longer than initially expected at the outset. We are not aware of any delays that were caused by us not acting on instructions or correspondence promptly. The time that a case takes to conclude can often be affected if external reports a required or where we are awaiting instructions. We consider that clear advice was always provided to you in a timely manner and we do not agree that the other party’s solicitor was leading matters as suggested. We consider that we provided a supportive and professional service throughout the case which is what we strive to do for all of our clients. My first contact with Jo Johnson was a home visit during which the process of what was needed to achieve a positive outcome. Jo was at all times timely with information was sensitive to my needs and when needed allowed me time to reflect. I particularly liked the payment process with regular monthly payments which left no surprises at the end of the case.
