Alex is the Managing Partner of Streathers and advises businesses, developers, investors and entrepreneurs on a broad range of commercial, property and regulatory matters. He is known for providing pragmatic and commercially focused advice, helping clients structure transactions, manage risk and achieve their strategic objectives. Having joined Streathers as a trainee solicitor in 2014, Alex undertook seats across property, private client, commercial and litigation before qualifying into the firm's Commercial department in 2016. He was promoted to Senior Associate in 2021 and was appointed as a Partner in 2022. As Managing Partner, Alex is responsible for the strategic leadership of the firm, overseeing its continued growth, client service offering and long-term development. Alongside his leadership responsibilities, Alex continues to advise clients on a wide range of commercial matters, including: • Company incorporations and business structuring • Joint venture and collaboration agreements • Development and funding arrangements, including Sharia-compliant financing • Mergers and acquisitions • Asset sales • Demerger and group re-organisation • Development management agreements • Tax structuring • Data protection and privacy compliance Recent Experience • Advising a property developer on a development finance facility of £60M supporting the construction of a 325-unit residential development. • Advising on the separation of a rental property business from an established development company as part of a wider business restructuring. • Advising on the structure and implementation of a series of capital reduction demergers to prepare a business for sale/investment. • Advising on the tax-efficient structuring of UK real estate acquisitions. Alex combines technical legal expertise with a practical understanding of the commercial challenges faced by businesses, investors and entrepreneurs. His earlier experience advising on private client and property matters gives him a broader perspective on the legal, tax and structuring issues that frequently sit alongside commercial transactions, particularly for owner-managed businesses, developers and investors. This enables him to deliver advice that is both commercially focused and informed by a wider understanding of clients' long-term objectives, while building trusted, long-term relationships with clients and professional advisers alike.
