Highly recommend, excellent service

Exceptionally professional, knowledgable and supportive
We needed a solicitor to support a young family member in a sensitive case. We chose Joe of the three solicitors we approached because of his willingness to provide procedural information and general advice before he was even engaged and the time he gave to answering our questions whilst we decided who to appoint. His courtesy was especially appreciated due to the anxiety and pressure caused by the situation.
Throughout our dealings with Joe and his team, he displayed his vast experience in the law, in dealing with highly sensitive matters whilst also safeguarding his client's mental health.

Absolutely Brilliant
Throughout the entire process from my arrest to my sentencing, Joe and his team here at McMillans were nothing but supportive, informative, and helpful. The fee system was also very straightforward. Joe was great at staying cautiously optimistic and never giving false hope nor guarantees. He went beyond what was expected of him as a solicitor and clearly cared about me and my case. Excellent Counsel
Like many others who come under investigation for an indecent image offence, I felt as if the world was ending and had visions of a life in custody followed by a life on the street. However, Joe and his team quickly took control of the situation and got to work in assessing the details of my case. Throughout proceedings, Joe and the team remained completely non-judgemental and were completely open about my situation and what I should expect. If you are suspected in these offenses and are indeed guilty, I advise discussing with Joe openly and honestly. It won't be easy, but he will listen and work for you to provide the best outcome.
I have been extremely lucky in retaining my relationship with my wife and seeking extensive helpful support from a brilliant therapist who was sourced by Joe. Given the extensive work he put into my case, I have now received a reasonable and easily understood Community Order where it would not have been impossible for me to have been sent to prison for upwards of 6 months. Of course, everyone's circumstances are different, but Joe and his team will always work for you in the best way possible.
This will likely be one of the most stressful times of your life, but Joe's team kept the edge off and kept me sane at times when I felt extremely scared and vulnerable. In short, instruct McMillans. You won't regret it.

Experienced, confidential and professional service
Joe has been very clear, comprensive, professional and calm since the first call.
He talked me through all the various steps and various possibilities from the very beginning without judging and explaining everything situation by situation.
He was always at the end of the phone whenever I needed it and also very helpful at the end of the proceeding.

Sterling job
The stress of the last few years is finally beginning to subside. I would like to thank you and your team for the hard work you have put in and the consideration you have given me. I do not believe I could have wished for better representation. Please pass on my thanks to all those who have been involved, especially to Michael Skelley who did a sterling job on the day in front of a Judge who gave every appearance of being somewhat hostile. Certainly very much less than sympathetic, shall we say! After having that initial 'knock on the door' first thing in the morning and finding the police standing there on our doorstep with a search warrant, ready to confiscate all our devices because I was accused of making and distributing images, it was as if my life was about to completely fall apart. The shock and horror was overwhelming while I was interviewed at the station and the duty solicitor assigned to me was most unhelpful, providing me with unsound advice. The best move I ever made was to switch to McMillans solicitors straight after that. From the first phone call to Joe, it was obvious that I had made the right decision. Recently I found myself in need a specialist offences solicitor. I found Joe Happe from McMillians Solicitor to be expert in this field. He gave clear and concise legal advice. He understood my objectives from day one and became an advocate for those objectives. He provided other experts in their field to aid in my dealings with the Police and the Courts. I believe that without these experts, I would have been served a custodial sentence. Joe told me the fees for each stage from day one. These fees didn't change even though my case took almost 12 months to resolve.
