Change your Home Insurance Policy

In short, if you have a home insurance policy with legal expense insurance provision from DAS Law like I did. Then you possess categorically inferior legal expense insurance that could potentially lose you a lot of money and rights.

Your insurance company's decision to utilise this firm has been deliberate, strategic, primarily cost based and due to the fact that your claim will be dealt with so slowly that you will not want to subsequently claim through them ever again. Making a claim via DAS Law will inevitably exacerbate your legal position, mental stability and peace of mind. They are extremely unresponsive, unprofessional and uncaring. Consequently, I cancelled my home insurance policy and moved on. I would humbly advise you to do the same.

One star is too high a rating

This firm is a disaster. They are good upfront in speaking to you on the phone once you have made a claim. They promptly send out an Accident Questionnaire. Once you have sent it back to them, then in our experience nothing happens for weeks on end. They don't answer the telephone and do not respond to emails. Quite shocking. This is not what you expect from a legal firm.

Useless company. Total waste of earths resources.

I had to use DAS due to home insurance cover using them. They took 2.5yrs to go no where. I had easy case against cowboy builder due to all evidence i had collected, but DAS still failed to progress matters. During the 2.5yrs they had given me 4 paralegals/solicitors that all had a different view on how to deal with matters. Each of them never bothered to update themselves looking at the whole case and just reacted to things on the fly. It got to the stage where the court said my case should never of got that far without first going to mediation...causing extra costs of course. At mediation DAS failed to comply with mediation rules. I ended up being at a loss due to the mediation cockup. There complaints reply to my official complaint just washed over my many complaints. I`m complaining to the ombudsman, who are likely to be just as bad but at least i get the pleasure knowing i`m making DAS waste there precious time...(read costs) to them. The final bill ended up being 2.5 times the original quoted estimate. Just as well i did not have to pay them.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

AVOID AVOID AVOID
We had insurance cover which directed us to DAS law for a personal injury claim. From the beginning the whole experience has been extremely poor. 3 solicitors over 4 years, without being informed once. No productive action was taken without having to chase numerous times continuously. It took 3 years for them to simply arrange medical evidence which meant our claim was delayed substantially because of the lack of competence of DAS LAW. We complained formally numerous times to the company and they did not follow the correct procedures a law firm should. Whilst we experienced financial hardship the firm used delaying tactics to increase their costs to the maximum possible. I plead to anyone reading this DO NOT USE DAS LAW.

Get cover elsewhere

I have a commercial legal expenses policy with the the nfumutual that covers legal defence , property protection , contract dispute and debt recovery. The NFU do not help you present your claim. DAS claims handlers' job appears to be to deny cover and give you the run around until you give up the will to live. They say they don't cover 'defence' ! I am taking this to the financial services ombudsman - as if I didn't have better things to do and spend time and money on. I wouldn't want to have to deal with them anyway as there are too many hoops to jump through - they will always wriggle out of paying out anything.
