My recent house purchase

I highly recommend Harrisons Thames Valley Solicitors to anyone looking for reliable, efficient and professional conveyancing services. Purchasing a property can often be a complex and stressful process, but thanks to the team’s expertise, attention to detail and excellent customer service, everything was handled smoothly and efficiently from start to finish.

Professional Conveyancing Service

I contacted Harrisons regarding conveyancing. I was delighted and extremely pleased with their efficient and professional handling of my purchase. They was speedy to reply and informed me every step of the way during a very difficult purchase. I would highly recommend - 10 out of 10 for their work.

Excelleent Conveyancing Transactins

We have used Harrison's several times for conveyancing transcations across our BTL portfolio. We find them extremely profficient in their knowledge and ability to get sales and purchases to target. We are fully aware the turbulance that estate agents can sometime have expeditors that cause turbulance across the sales chains and it can be extremely frustrating when they get involved when it is clear that they are rushing the conveyancing process. Buying and selling a property requires the solicitors to act in the middle between the mortgage companies anf the client. They are not there to represent estate agents and this is what caused problems with this last transaction where we nearly lost a property as the appropriate enwquiries were not dealt with in the time frame set by the estate agents of the property being bought. It was clear that the sellers of the property were being fed force informaion. It was when we contacted the selllers direct and highlighted that the delay was with the lack of claritry in the information required from them via their solicitors who were based in Barrow, who were obviously a mega production line practice. Sally was super helpful throughout this property purchase.

Housing & Property

Go with another firm - don’t make the mistake I did.

Took 10 months to complete my purchase of a shared ownership flat. James communication was really bad and at times unprofessional. A email was sent not ment for me and the response was “lol same first name”. As a first time buyer I had no direction on the steps I had to take. I was sent my file with no direction what I had to sign. One document didn’t even include my name - it took me going into the office to make him realise that it was not the correct document. My file contained part of report for a property that wasn't mine. Worst part was that I had a issue with the staircasing part of the mortgage that resulting in my mortgage running out - I believe he didn’t submit the mortgage application correctly because my housing association had never had a problem previously. I ended up a giving up 5% in the property just because I didn’t trust him to handle the stair-casing transaction properly as I was getting no answers or direction. All in all a horrible experience with this firm and would not recommend to anyone!

Awful experience with Harrison's

I had a very poor experience with Harrisons Solicitors, especially as a first-time buyer. What should have been an exciting milestone quickly turned stressful due to their lack of transparency and poor client service. From the outset, the documentation was unclear, and we encountered hidden fees that weren’t disclosed until after we had already paid the initial £450. When we raised concerns about the lack of clarity, and politely asked if there is anything that can be done, as we would not have chosen them, should the additional fees have been clear, the situation only got worse. We were passed on to Julien, who was not only unhelpful but outright rude and dismissive. Rather than offering support or attempting to resolve our concerns, he focused on correcting the spelling of his name and was incredibly patronising throughout. His attitude was essentially: we're right, you're wrong and if you don't like it, go elsewhere. So after a lot of stress and upset we did move. The communication and attitude of Julien was appalling. Since switching solicitors, the difference has been night and day. Our new firm has been proactive, clear, and supportive throughout the process—highlighting just how poor Harrisons' service really was. The delays, lack of initiative, and poor communication at Harrisons were not just frustrating, they were completely avoidable. I've also spoken with others who’ve had similarly negative experiences with Harrisons, including repeated delays, unprofessional email exchanges, and even confidential documents being sent to the wrong recipients. Based on my experience (and that of others), I would not recommend Harrisons Solicitors to anyone.
