Very very SLOW!

Should have been a straight forward sale, with no chain. I think they work backwards, searches were completed on the 6th Feb and we are still waiting for a completion date. We then kept being ask to sign more paperwork, send over more bank statements.. We were told over 3 weeks ago that they were waiting for the compliance team to sign off our file and we are still waiting. Almost 4 months since we instructed the solicitors and we are still waiting. Our solicitor does respond quite quickly to our emails, unfortunately they are not saying what we want to hear! The EA is also chasing them on a daily basis and we aren't getting anywhere with a completion date.

House sale

This is the 5th time I have used this solicitor firm. The house sale process is always problematic in some way, but David Simpson is very patient. He will answer his phone and respond to emails, which I was always grateful for.

Amazing experience!!

Could not recommend Laura Roberts enough. We have just completed on our first home and couldn't have done it without her. Constant communication, always kept us in the loop & resolved any issues there and then. Would 100% recommend. Thankyou to Laura & ET Law LTD.

My experience

Just want to say what an incredible and smooth experience I had with this firm, they kept me informed every step of the way throughout buying our home and nothing was an issue to them. When an issue arose it was sorted straight away by our solicitor - who was amazing throughout. Just want to say a massive thank you to this company for getting us into our home.

Lack of contact

I used them for sale& purchase of my house. They were recommended by Edward Mellor.
They contacted me only once, at the beginning, just to say that Mellor has recommended them, take £83 from me & and send their paperwork.

I have never received any contact details to solicitor that is dealing with my sale and purchase ie phone number or email address.
I rang them 2 weeks after my sale to check what's going on and I have been told that nothing.
I have tried few times. Solicitor was always not available, busy or at lunch. I left messages, but no one came back to me. I've been told that I can send them an email. When I told receptionist that at the moment I have nothing to write on the call has ended. I rang again and asked for an email address, but even then no one replied.

When I rang again I've been told that they didn't contact anyone yet, they don't know about my buyers and who their solicitor is. They asked me if I sold my house??? Et law said that they will have to contact Mellor to get all the details. They couldn't confirm what is the next step or what are we waiting for. They had no idea how long this will take.
They changed my solicitor from Sarah Larocca to Sophie McGrogan. It didn't help. She went on holiday and there was no one else who was dealing with my sale and purchase during her absence.
When sellers where asking for updates, Et Law was saying that they are waiting for me, that I'm delaying everything.
I only got updates from Et Law when I complained to Edward Mellor.
They sounded very unprofessional and unsure of what is going on.
I finally decided that my mental health is more important than little bit of delay, so I have changed my solicitor.
This was the best decision ever.
I don't recommend Et Law.

Woeful

An appalling service that is difficult to understand. Please avoid if buying a property. I cannot emphasise enough how you need to stay away from this firm. I was buying a 2 bed apartment in Warrington with no chain. 29 weeks of non action by solicitor and the seller pulled out. This must be one of the slowest solicitors firm in the UK and they have messed up my move to my first home. Whoever runs this practice needs to seriously reflect on the awful service they provide. I suspect the solicitors are overworked and there is a duty of care issue there also. I would be concerned about the possible impact to mental health of clients who are unlucky enough to use this firm. Lots to worry about when thinking about this firm.

Appalling

ET Law were our vendors' solicitors. It should have been a simple chain-free conveyance. Instead it failed to complete. Long delays in communication and failure to sort out the most basic points of the contract caused the wholly avoidable collapse. Right at the end, precipitating the collapse, they claimed they had phoned our solicitors but got no reply. Our solicitors say there was no such call. It's up to you to judge who was telling the truth.

Worst solicitors I’ve ever dealt with. Don’t know if this was Natalie’s first time conveyancing, if so hopefully things will improve in the future.

Not the best not the worst

Not exactly helpful or driven in assisting with chasing to get a decision or response. No forthcoming updates had to constantly call and email with lack of responses. When I was asking for updates I was met with we are just waiting. Not the response you want in frustrating & stressful situation.
did the paperwork eventually.
wouldn't use again.
