Outstanding experience with Truelegal for a complicated share purchase of an asset, planned to be hived up. The brief was understood totally which was a breath of fresh air. Martin was always available to clarify items and got the deal completed when at times it looked like it all may come undone. It was also convenient to be able to get the PG done in house as well. As a small business owner, with 20 years under my belt and a great deal of self-sacrifice to ensure a successful company, it's a big step to selling your business. After taking advice from my agent I selected True Legal to act on my behalf and they were both extremely professional and friendly at the same time! There is a huge amount of legal 'speak' involved and my solicitor was was extraordinarily helpful in explaining and how to do things and cutting through all the jargon to simplify matters.

Martin was very professional, approachable and calm and helped smooth my journey through my small business sale. He had a very practical and balanced attitude guiding me through all the legal jargon in a way that made it understandable. His communications were good and he responded quickly to any queries I had. An obvious statement but selling a business isn't an easy process. However, if it's not something you've done before it would be easy to think it's straightforward. It's not. When we first approached Martin he took the time to listen to our story and then asked probing but essential questions that soon helped us see the reality of what was before us. Martin guided us through every step, he was there for us when the process got challenging and most importantly his legal advice was top notch. Martin is more than a solicitor; he's a solicitor who has the human touch and who understands the emotions the seller goes through and then stands by your side. Selling our business had its challenges but Martin was always on the end of the phone to guide us. He worked tirelessly with the buyers solicitors to get the result we needed. We couldn't have done it without Martin. A top guy who looks after you.

Update Nov 2024 As part of my ongoing relationship with Martin, I required a change to an existing lease that he drafted. After numerous attempts to contact him, I received no response, and was left with no alternative but to seek a new solicitor. I do not know why he has not responded to my attempts to contact him, and it may be because of some legitimate reason such as injury. However this is not the first time this has happened, as I have been working with Martin for over 10 years. There was a period in the past where he simply stopped responding to my messages, however I thought we resolved this hence my review below. Based on this past experience I am assuming that he is able to respond to me but chooses not to. If this is the case then clearly it is unprofessional and unworkable. All of this is a great shame as he is a good solicitor, except for this unexplained lack of contact. Nov 2023 - Martin Truman provided the solutions I needed quickly, and efficiently. I was able to reach him on the phone or by email without delays, the work was done swiftly without legal complication, and I felt confidence in his work. Given that all of this was carried out at a very reasonable price, I cannot fault his service in any way, and would recommend him to others.

Martin and his team supported us through the sale of our soft play business in Northamptonshire recently. Their advice & guidance through the whole process was thorough and professional. I would have no hesitation in recommending their services or using them again in the future. A "True" pleasure to deal with.

I cannot express enough how pleased we were with the service provided by True Legal. Extremely thorough, comprehensive and professional in all the work they conducted for us. Worked as quickly as possible and were very patient when there were severe delays on the other end. True Legal charge a fixed cost and it is every bit worth the money.
