Serious Professional Failures and Withdrawal Days Before Final Hearing
My experience with this firm was extremely disappointing and distressing. I paid substantial legal fees around £8000 for representation in an Employment Tribunal case, only to receive incorrect advice, including advice about costs that later proved to be wrong. Despite repeated requests, key documents such as my witness statement and schedule of loss were not completed, and the case was not properly prepared. Most seriously, the firm withdrew from representing me less than two days before my final hearing, leaving me unrepresented at a critical stage. The Tribunal was informed that I had withdrawn my instructions, which was not true. I was also pressured to accept settlement shortly before the hearing, and when I raised formal complaints, communication effectively ceased. When they accepted representing me at the beginning of the case, they provided me with a positive assessment of my claims and encouraged me to proceed. Based on this, they accepted the engagement and received the full fees. However, after receiving the fees, and only a few days before the final hearing, they abruptly changed their position. They then denied having met with me initially or having given any prior advice, despite the existence of audio recordings, email correspondence, and payment receipts that prove otherwise. Most seriously, only a few days before the final hearing, they informed me that they were not legally authorized to provide legal advice in my case—something that was never disclosed at the time they accepted the claim, collected the fees, or during the preceding months in which they had provided me with legal advice and revised legal documents. I am now pursuing this matter formally through the Legal Ombudsman and relevant regulatory bodies. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to exercise extreme caution before instructing this firm
