I'm a broker in the London and Southwest area and I've just started submitting cases to Equilaw and I have to say they were first class from beginning to end and we will be using them going forward.

Equilaw are very accessible, they will respond to emails promptly, they will answer calls, you can book call-backs and they also have a portal where you can see the progress of the case. I find Equilaw very easy to deal with, they have a big team with a lot of experience. I would definitely recommend them as my number one choice equity release solicitor. Some of the above you may take for granted but you will be surprised how many firms don't even do the above. For that I would say Equilaw are a cut above the rest.

Completed my equity release in just 2 weeks despite some complexities with my case.

My 80 years old Mother wanted to release equity through the "help" of Equilaw it took over a year before she decided not to go ahead, they have made her ill through stress and worry, they lose documents and ask for them again, then they find them, then they want documentation because they had forgotten to ask the first time, then they ask for more documentation and lose more documents that are sent to them.
They do not like negative feedback, although truthful.
And refuse to answer if you question their ability.

We were supposed to be contacted by phone to confirm their input, did not happen. Could not get in touch by phone - had to make an appointment for 5-7 days ahead. Had to phone to ask for pack Which arrived by post 11 days later!! My contact Robert Davies-Bolton seemed totally out of his depth on the phone. Did not have a grasp of what he was supposed to be doing or what I was supposed to be doing. I spoke to his Team Manager Danielle after various emails and phone calls from me which seemed to have no effect whatsoever. She took over the case as I was so desperate for the case to proceed. She was a great deal better and we got through it. We had a phone call to confirm completion and the money would be with us either that same day or the next. Two days later still no money. I telephoned and insisted on speaking to Damielle. She had no explanation but apologised again and the money was with us within an hour. I would not recommend this company under any circumstances despite the fact that they refunded a derisory £90 for the weeks of hassle and anxiety we had endured.

Do not even consider this company they were no help to us whatsoever we have had to pull out. We have been waiting 7 months and are no further forward from day 1.
