Appointment booked and solicitor not even in that day

Explained to a lovely lady on the phone that we needed an appointment that week as my husband was away the following week and then we had something that was being looked at in court the following Monday. Appt booked for 4pm on a Friday. Turned up and we were not expected but asked them to check in the diary and we had actually been put in by a person that had conveniently left the day before. Turns out the solicitor we were meant to see wasn’t in on a Friday anyway. Left to wait in a side room with flies flying around whilst having to listen to a woman In the office next door moaning about how awful a week they’ve had whilst they tried to scramble something together. Shoddy shoddy service. Don’t waste your time or money.

So disappointed with service

This should have been a straight forward case. The will was clear and concise which was done at Twomlows years ago. I needed to get this sorted as soon as possible due to illness, but was not bothered with our situation. Very nice on phone but did not deliver.
Very very disappointed with my treatment making my illness worse with the stress.

Total contempt for their Clients

If you are expecting a prompt and professional service where you are respected and valued as a Client and customer, DO NOT use the conveyancing department of Twomlows.

They rarely reply to emails, do not return calls and go on leave and remain uncontactable for weeks on end. They do not share important information with Clients, don't keep them updated on the progress of the case and are generally unhelpful. They don't follow their own Terms and Conditions and any agreed terms are ignored.

When a concern is raised, rather than address it in a professional manner and seek a resolution, they are more likely to ignore, insult and blame the Client and refuse to represent them. They are arrogant and unaccountable; referring to their clients as being less favourable than criminals.

While I was hoping to complete on a set date, just 2 days before they refused to act for me and informed the vendors solicitors they were no longer representing me, throwing the entire purchase into jeopardy.

You have been warned!

A hugely stressful and unsatisfactory experience

I instructed Twomlows in Monmouth to conduct the conveyancing on my property. Whilst I do not doubt the authentic niceness of some of the people there, the service was truly dreadful, culminating in my completion funds going astray due entirely to their error. I spent the whole weekend extremely anxious as to why my ex partner had received his share of the funds (on completion) but I had received nothing. I asked several times for a copy of Twomloes' complaints procedure, but nothing was ever forthcoming. Eventually, I was offered £100 "compensation" which I rejected. This was then doubled to £200. Perhaps worse than anything was the total and complete lack of empathy shown by partner, Chris Prigg, once the error had been rectified (through hours - literally- of my time on the phone). He was difficult to contact, curt and didn't even offer to pay my "compensation" by BACS (offering only by cheque). I would never ever use this firm again - and would urge others to avoid them. Even putting aside the fiasco on completion (and the afternath) their service really was dreadful.
