Civil Law in England covers non-criminal disputes between private individuals, businesses, and public bodies. It includes contract and tort claims, land and property disputes, and consumer rights, pursued through the courts and, where relevant, alternative dispute resolution. A solicitor drafts statements of case, negotiates settlements, gathers and presents evidence, and represents a client in hearings and trials, or arranges for appropriate specialist advocacy. They also assist with enforcing judgments and managing ongoing disputes.
