This area covers people on contracts that end after a set date or after a fixed period. A solicitor in this field drafts, reviews and negotiates fixed-term terms, checks for parity with permanent staff, addresses conversion to permanent status, and handles disputes over notice, pay, holidays and redundancy. They also pursue or defend claims under the UK rules that protect fixed-term workers and challenge unfair extensions or re-appointments where terms differ from those offered to permanent employees.

Naomi Ireson

Tagged solicitor Naomi Ireson

Quick communication, measured advice and I felt confident in adhering to Naomis suggestions. Naomi was confident of a successful outcome from the outset and this was reassuring and ultimately she was successful in my case. I would recommend Naomi personally and due to my positive experience I will also be using Slee and Blackwell for other services.

Anna Jane Louisa Neil

Tagged solicitor Anna Jane Louisa Neil

I was advised Maitland Walker by my employer. It was a bit of a niche situation that I needed advice on, and although the situation changed, Anna straight away had a number of solutions. She also helped to drive the process from both sides of the situation, whilst always having a clear understanding and care of the situation. In the nicest way I hope I never have to use them again, but I 100% would use them if needed.
