This area covers matters that arise after an employee’s contract ends, including final pay, references, garden leave, and enforceable post-termination restrictions. A solicitor in this field handles settlements, negotiates and drafts compromise or settlement agreements, and can advise on claims arising from how the termination was conducted, including wrongful dismissal or disputes over holiday pay owed after termination. The work is shaped by contract terms, statutory rights, and potential disputes that can affect future employment and reference checks.
