Off Setting is not a standard, separately recognised area of English family law. In practice, matters people may refer to as offsetting typically sit within the broader field of family finance and divorce work, including reviewing asset disclosures, valuing pensions or capital, and negotiating settlements or orders. A solicitor in this area would assess financial disclosures, draft or revise settlement or consent orders, advise on enforcement and variation, and liaise with the county court or Family Court when formal orders are required.
