From the first telephone call Rufia guided me through every stage of the case with patience and care. She kept me informed through her ability to explain incredibly complicated legal terminology so that I have a good understanding of what has been happening, and allowed me to be able to follow the complex changes throughout. Not once did I feel like any question I had was , and I felt completely safe and confident in calling with any queries I had, which she answered swiftly and honestly. Rufia has helped me enormously by being available to talk to whenever I felt I needed to know anything, and she has spent countless hours of her time advising me, offering comfort and support alongside her incredible legal expertise. Not once did I feel that my family was not a priority, and there were even moments of humour among the empathy and understanding offered to me through her experience and invaluable communication skills. I lost count of the times Rufia reminded me that she was simply doing her job, but she did much more than that, in my opinion. From sending me quick summary emails following advocates' meetings late in the day because she knew that I would be anxious to know how they went, to immediately forwarding important reports to me, she understood how to ensure I felt supported throughout an incredibly stressful time. I also want to acknowledge that Rufia was transparent with me, even when I felt most frustrated and dismayed at the direction that the case seemed to be taking; she was the "voice of reason" when all I wanted to do was return to a sense of normality immediately. This can't have been easy, but I appreciate Rufia never giving me false hope; instead she always provided me with an accurate overview of events and possible outcomes, using her experience in an area of law that I had no idea about whatsoever. I would also like to thank Sophie Lenton, who was fantastic, and also other members of the team who may have helped in my case.
