This area covers the duties local authorities owe to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in England, and the rights and remedies available when those duties are engaged. A solicitor helps with homelessness applications, reviewing a decision notice, gathering evidence of priority need, securing interim and substantive relief, and representing clients at any review or appeal, and in related negotiations with housing providers.
A solicitor handles the factual and legal tests for priority need, reasonable steps to prevent homelessness, and the appropriate housing options. They will collect evidence, draft representations, advise on potential housing solutions, and address any breaches of statutory duties, including liaising with local authorities, landlords, and housing providers to protect the client’s position.

Tagged solicitor David Chapman
We used Amicus Law for the recent sale of our house and purchase of our new property here in Minehead. David Chapman and his team provided excellent service. They dealt with everything very quickly and kept us fully informed at every stage. David was always available to answer any queries or concerns. He worked hard at the end to make sure we completed on the given day as there was a problem further down the chain. I would recommend Amicus Law and would certainly use them again.
