This area covers lease extensions, enfranchisement of leaseholders, and shared ownership transactions. A solicitor here handles rights under schemes like the Leasehold Reform, Housing and Urban Development Act 1993 and related legislation, guiding you from initial eligibility checks to the completion of a new lease or share sale. They draft or review notices, negotiate terms, compile financial checks, collect statutory valuations, and manage the interaction with freeholders or managing agents, ensuring legally sound transfers or extensions for private sector leaseholders.
A lease extension or enfranchisement often locks in long-term housing costs and ownership security, with time-bound steps and precise valuations. A solicitor ensures the required notices and responses are correctly served, negotiates terms to protect your position, and handles the legal documents, registrations and any court or tribunal steps if needed, safeguarding your ability to remain in the home under a renewed or newly acquired lease.

Tagged solicitor Sue O'Hara
We had Sue as our contact. Very professional and good communication despite a challenging chain. Pity other solicitors in chain were not up to Sue’s standard.

Shilpav Patel acted on my behalf for my Sale & Purchase and once again he didn't let me down. Always available to me to answer any of my questions and reassure me. I have no hesitation in recommending Shilpav and his Secretary Janet, absolute Stars both of them. Thank you.

Tagged solicitor Lauren Clay
After a negative experience with another local solicitors we didn't hold out much hope for anything better. Lauren and her team worked hard to get us to complete on time, taking constant phonecalls and emails from us. Pushing and rooting for us. Finally the experience we wanted from solicitors! Thank you

Tagged solicitor Leona Ho
We have used Leona several times over the years for conveyancing and to draw up contracts. When we first met her several years ago, she was a trainee whose talent, work ethic and attention to detail was remarkable. We recently had a house to sell so we tracked Leona down to secure her amazing services for conveyancing. As always, she did not disappoint and the process was smooth and efficient. Leona is a very impressive legal professional but aside from her tremendous skill and knowledge, it's her warm personality and friendly manner that makes her such a pleasure to work with. We are not surprised that she recently won 'Lawyer of the Year' - very well deserved in our view.
