The work in Wales covers the same range of employer and personal pension arrangements as elsewhere: trust‑based occupational schemes, defined benefit and defined contribution arrangements, master trusts, SIPPs, transfers, buy‑outs and scheme closures. A solicitor drafts and updates trust deeds and scheme rules, negotiates bulk transfer and insurance contracts, advises trustees and sponsoring employers on funding, employer covenant and governance, prepares regulatory filings to The Pensions Regulator and engages with the Pension Protection Fund and Pensions Ombudsman where relevant. Where a scheme concerns devolved public services in Wales its administration and employer arrangements may be affected by Welsh public bodies or Welsh Ministers, but private occupational regulation and statutory funding requirements follow the same national regimes.
