Top 10 of 4,693 law firms for Property Deeds, Housing & Property

Law firms ranked by client reviews

Property deeds cover the creation, transfer and registration of property interests in England, including deeds of transfer, leases, charges and assignments, ensuring title is correctly registered with HM Land Registry. A solicitor in this area drafts, checks and negotiates the documents needed to buy, sell or remortgage, reviews contract terms, ensures conveyancing compliance and handles the Stamp Duty land tax position. They liaise with lenders, surveyors and other parties, prepare transfer deeds and register changes to the title, advising on easements, covenants and rights of way.

Why this work is usually handled by a solicitor

Professional involvement protects the client through regulated conduct, professional indemnity insurance, and the client account framework; a solicitor reviews, signs and, where appropriate, negotiates the deeds and related documents to ensure valid transfer and registration.

Lynsey Pender

Tagged solicitor Lynsey Pender

We approached Lynsey Pender to act as our conveyancer for buying our first home and she has been nothing short of exceptional. We didn’t know much (at all!) going in to the process, and had a few stressful moments due to that, but Lynsey was always so helpful and reassuring and got us to purchase completion with such ease. She made such a daunting experience a lot easier and would absolutely recommend her 100%

Elizabeth Crouch

Tagged solicitor Elizabeth Crouch

We have always used a different Legal firm which I alway thought were a bit insipid, not inspiring confidence. This was the first time we had used Cartmell’s and we were both pleased with the efficient professionalism of Cartmell’s. Although the house purchase did not happen; on reflection, we are very grateful for the work Elizabeth at Cartmell’s carried out for us. If it were not for her professionalism, we could have walked into an absolute nightmare. We were advised to pull out of the purchase by them. Elizabeth found a number of anomalies in the deeds that would have made us unable to sell the property in the future along with access issues. The vendor had consistently lied to us about regarding ownership and the way the property had been split up. Moral of the story: trust your solicitor and don’t trust the vendor or estate agent! Also, if it wasn’t written down; it did not happen! Would definitely use their services again!
