Where a person dies leaving a will, solicitors advise executors on gathering the estate, paying debts and legacies, and applying for the grant of probate. They draft and check the estate accounts, liaise with HM Revenue & Customs and the Probate Registry, identify beneficiaries, and handle claims against the estate. They also navigate deadlines, fiduciary duties and, where relevant, disputes, ensuring assets are distributed in accordance with the will and the law.

“Dealing with the estate of a deceased member of the family is emotionally draining at the best of times - Nick Bevan, Katriona Lovelock have been great in helping us deal with the potential pitfalls of beneficiaries. In addition the teams of Vicky, Rebecca. Heidi have proved knowledgeable and helpful along the way. ”
