Not Recommended - Unreliable Representation and Poor Communication
I was referred to Mr. Tariq Ali through my support worker at Women’s Aid for assistance with a child arrangement case. Unfortunately, my experience with him was deeply disappointing.
Mr. Ali attended only the first hearing, during which things did not go well between him and the judge. After that, he stopped attending my hearings without prior notice. For the second hearing, he sent a representative without informing me beforehand. I only found out when I arrived at court. Although the representative knew nothing about my case, he managed to handle the situation well and engaged respectfully with the judge.
At the third hearing (held online via Microsoft Teams), I received a last-minute call just minutes before the session from a complete stranger claiming she would be representing me. I had to explain everything from the beginning under pressure, which left me upset and completely unprepared. I was unhappy with the outcome and immediately informed Mr. Ali but he did nothing to follow up. Instead, I later received an impersonal email from him with the final order.
After the hearing, when my ex failed to follow the terms of the final order, I reached out to Mr. Ali again in October 2024 to request support with taking the matter back to court. I sent multiple emails, text messages (including to his personal number), and called his office several times but to this day, I have not received any response from him or his firm.
This experience left me feeling unsupported and abandoned during a very sensitive time. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Mr. Tariq Ali for legal representation.
