I am leaving this review again as my previous review was removed. I want to share my experience honestly and respectfully so that potential clients can make an informed decision. I contacted this solicitor over a year ago regarding my husband’s case. From the beginning, I found communication and progress very difficult. I would ask questions such as what was needed from me, how we would start the process and what the next steps were, but I often felt that there was no clear guidance or communication about how to proceed. I provided a large amount of my personal documentation because I was intending to proceed with the application. This included photographs, my child’s photographs, bank statements, my son’s birth certificate and other personal documents. I also paid for some services. However, due to my financial circumstances, I was unable to continue with the application at that time, so the application was never actually started. I am a lone parent and I manage everything financially myself, so I was already struggling and unfortunately had to put the matter on hold. I am now looking for another solicitor to take on my husband’s case. My biggest concern is that, more than a year later, this solicitor is still holding my personal documentation. I have repeatedly asked for my documents back, including my son’s birth certificate, but I was told that I would need to pay a fee before my documents could be released. What confused me was that I was not made aware of this fee when I originally provided my documents. I do not recall being told beforehand that I would have to pay a fee simply to have my documents released, and I do not remember seeing this explained to me in any terms or conditions provided at the time. On a previous occasion, I needed my passport and went into the office to request it, and it was given back to me without being asked to pay a fee. Therefore, when I later requested my son’s birth certificate and was told that I had to pay a fee to have my documents released, I was understandably confused. I also found the communication during my visit very unprofessional. I was given information that appeared to relate to the wrong type of application, including a reference to divorce, even though that was not the matter I was dealing with. I appreciate that solicitors are extremely busy, but as a client I still expect clear, accurate and respectful communication. If there was a fee or specific procedure relating to the release of documents, I would have expected this to be clearly explained to me from the beginning, rather than finding out only when I requested my documents back. I completely understand that solicitors are busy and that firms have fees and procedures. However, if a solicitor does not have the time or capacity to properly deal with a client’s circumstances, I believe it would be better to be honest about this from the beginning rather than accept the matter and leave the client feeling confused and unsupported. I am sharing this review based on my personal experience. I genuinely hope the matter can be resolved professionally and that my personal documentation can be returned to me. Until then, I will continue to pursue this through the appropriate channels.

I will always be thankful for the care, effort, and sincerity you put into helping me. You didn’t just provide a service. You gave reassurance and peace of mind. And hopefully, I’ll see you again in November 2028!
