She holds an LLB (Hons) from the University of Greenwich and a Masters in International and Commercial Law. She qualified as a solicitor at a national firm before joining Howell Jones in 2021. Lavanya was promoted to Associate Solicitor in 2024. Lavanya has experience in all private client matters. These include wills and estate planning, estate administration, personal injury trusts, and services for elderly and vulnerable clients, including advising and preparing lasting powers of attorney and deputyship applications. She is an Accredited Member of The Association of Lifetime Lawyers (ALL), previously known as Solicitors for the Elderly. Lifetime Lawyers are specialists in supporting vulnerable and older people with legal advice. Lavanya is a Dementia Friend and helps raise awareness and understanding of dementia, so those with dementia can continue to live the way they want to. Lavanya supports clients of all ages who are facing important life decisions, including those with complex needs who may need extra guidance. Lavanya was the diversity and inclusivity representative for the Surrey Junior Lawyers Division for 2023/2024 and continues to champion equality and diversity. As a South Asian woman, Lavanya is keen for the legal profession to improve on celebrating and promoting professionals, regardless of their gender or background.

    Drawing Up of New Wills and LPA’s

    Lavanya was both professional and knowledgeable in helping us draw up new Wills and LPA’s. We particularly appreciated how she simplified what can be an overly complicated process, especially in keeping “legal jargon” to a minimum.     Lasting Power of Attorney Administration

    Having already used Howell Jones Solicitors at the Leatherhead branch for making a will in 2022 which was very efficiently dealt with by associate solicitor Lavanya Hart. As it now became time to have lasting power of attorney legally registered Howell Jones was 100% the go to solicitors. Went to the Surbiton branch this time as Lavanya had moved offices. This procedure was also administered highly efficiently and with excellent communication. Therefore I would recommend Howell Jones Solicitors.
