Overall, my experience with Smart Legal for my recent home purchase was reasonably satisfactory, though not without room for improvement. It's hard to fully assess the technical competence of the property lawyer, as I don't have a clear benchmark to compare against other firms — the transaction did complete, but I can't speak with confidence to how strong their expertise was relative to peers in the field. On communication, there was one instance where a scheduled phone call was cancelled without any prior notice. Given how important these calls can be to keeping a transaction on track, I would have appreciated advance notice whenever changes or cancellations were necessary. The online case-tracking platform was helpful in giving a general overview of where things stood, but updates were infrequent, which limited its usefulness for staying on top of real-time progress. I also received a few chasers from the other side's agent noting that Smart Legal had been slow to respond to their correspondence, which suggests responsiveness was an area for improvement. In terms of handling my own queries, responses were sometimes slow, but questions were never left unanswered — I always eventually got a substantive reply. In summary, the service was competent and nothing fell through the cracks, but there's clear room for improvement in responsiveness and proactive communication.

I cannot stress this enough, if you are currently looking for a conveyancer, please please please choose Smart Legal!! As first time buyers we were so anxious, but Daisy and Heshini made the entire process so easy to follow. They were informative, transparent, hard working…just anything you could want and ask for. And they got us in just in time for Christmas!!!!! The whole process took just over 3 months, with a lot of bumps and turns which they handled gracefully and professionally. On top of weekly email updates, Daisy or Heshini would always pick up the phone and give us all the important updates as soon as they would happen. If you choose Smart Legal, you will not regret it. We are incredibly pleased and we will most definitely be back again!!
