Andrea qualified as a solicitor in 1998 and has a Masters Degree in Law (Human Rights Law). Before choosing to specialise in family law, Andrea practised in mental health becoming a Member of the Law Society’s Mental Health Review Tribunal representing clients detained under the Mental Health Act seeking discharge from detention or other improvements in their circumstances whilst detained. Andrea developed a particular interest in mental health and its impact on parents, particularly mothers, writing a paper as part of her LLM. She maintains an interest in mental health law and practice although no longer a member of the Law Society's accredited panel. Andrea is an experienced solicitor, part of the family law team specialising in matrimonial/civil partnership matters, including finance matters and children law.
