Claire originally qualified as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives in 2000, before going on to qualify as a Solicitor in 2005 and has since handled solely Personal Injury matters. With over 20 years’ experience, Claire has acted for injured claimants in a wide range of cases including accidents in the workplace, slips and trips, public and product liability claims, road traffic accidents, accidents involving children, and accidents at school. Additionally, Claire has represented claimants in cases involving civil assaults at work. She is very experienced in serious personal injury claims, having dealt with many claimants who have been severely injured, including brain injuries, achieving settlements up to £300,000. Whilst most of Claire’s career has been spent representing claimants, she has previously represented defendant insurance companies and has some insight into how ‘the other side’ works. During her time at Watson Woodhouse Solicitors in Middlesbrough, she gained extensive experience of claims against public authorities for unlawful detention, assault and Human Rights breaches. She was actively involved in the steering group to support victims of the Medomsley Abuse scandal. Claire takes pride in providing a first-class service, dealing with clients with respect and empathy, particularly in dealing with claims on behalf of vulnerable clients who have suffered abuse, both present and historic. Outside of work, Claire’s interests include a love of theatre, live music and comedy. She has a keen interest in mixology.
