Lorrie
Chris and his team at McKeag and Co. dealt with the selling and buying for our recent move. We anticipated things might take a bit longer due to Covid, but the conveyancing team were proactive and quick with both their work on our behalf and their replies to our questions throughout. For competence, approachability, sensible advice and price we couldn't fault them. A five star team!
Lorrie, many thanks for the excellent review. We value all feedback from our clients. The Covid pandemic has been a trying time for all, us included, but we have managed to maintain the excellent level of service expected by our clients. Chris and his team welcome you back in the future should you need their services. Thank you. McKeag & Co.

FTB and given poor advice
We were first time buyers and Mckeag and Co were recommended to us. Unfortunately our experience was very frustrating. We initially were very happy with our solicitor, only for her to go on indefinite leave with no forwarding information. We reached back out and were asssigned a new solicitor, who we found a lot less helpful. Our particular circumstances were slightly complicated by the fact that we had inherited funds from sale of a property. Our solicitor consisterly said he did not believe we qualified for first time buyers status, but sent links which didn't relate to our circumstances and when we tried to provide additional information we were largely brushed off. We ended up asking our bank for advice who clarified we could indeed use our LISAs as first time buyers. We then had the same back and forth regarding first time buyer stamp duty, where we ended up needing to seek additional advice from a tax accountant to clarify that we were eligible for first time buyer stamp duty reduction. If we had not challenged our solicitor we would be over 5 grand out of pocket. All the advice we initially received was that a conveyancy solicitor was who would be able to advice us best on our situation, so we were frustrated that not only did our solicitor give us advice that would have cost us a lot more, but he seemed to think he wasn't the person to be asking about this at all and was very reluctant to discuss it at all. I do want to recognise how professional and helpful our initial solicitor (Nina) was early on in the process, but unfortunately cannot recommended Mckeag and Co based on our overall experience.

Great solictiors for first home purchase
We were recommended McKeag & Co for our conveyancing for the purchase of our first home and I would whole heartedly recommend them to others based on our experience. McKeag & Co communicated with us in a timely manner throughout the process and were able to answer big and small questions we had relating to our purchase. Buying a home can be daunting but I felt that McKeag & Co were never a blocker to things progressing and in fact were proactive in ensuring that all the documentation was prepared and completed thoroughly and efficiently. I would intend to use McKeag and Co for any future conveyancing needs and would recommend them to others. I am based in London but the fact they're based in Newcastle made no notable difference to the quality I receieved, and are likely better value for money than firms based in London.

Good conveyancing solicitors
Was informed throughout the process by McKeag and Co. Provided good advice when asked for and allowed me to complete around on schedule even with some set backs on the purchase. Would recommend.

Excellent service
We completed the purchase of our first family home in March, and we couldn’t have asked for better support from McKeag & Co Solicitors.
Everyone we dealt with was professional, approachable, and reassuring throughout the entire process. What stood out most was their clear and consistent communication - we were kept informed at every stage, and they always took the time to explain legal and technical details in a way that was easy to understand.
We’re incredibly grateful for their guidance and would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone buying a property in Gosforth!
