Efficient, effective and reasonable!

Mckeag's have now acted for us in the purchase or sale of 7 rental properties and we have always been happy with their service. The last transaction, a sale, was the most complex as the original sale fell through at a late stage and it was some 18 months before a new sale was agreed.
McKeags just took the situation in their stride and throughout the transaction provided timely updates, and guidance, and progressed the sale at the pace we expected. In the final two weeks before completion the buyer and their solicitor proved somewhat unprepared and Mckeags kept the sale on track by liaising with the byers solicitor and the selling agent, and we completed on time and as expected.

Good overall experience, but could have been better

We used McKeag & Co in the house buying process. The overall experience was fine, but at times we needed to ask for more details while they should have been provided by default. We felt them distant and stone cold. Having to buy a house first time feels overwhelming at times and more guidance is needed. Especially towards the end of the process we did not even have a clue when was the exact date, how we'll get the keys, will there be anyone at the property to hand it over, will the last bills be settled by the previous owners? Happy it's over, but could have been a better experience if they were more empathetic and showed they worked for us and not for the seller.

Wow, what can I say, I have in the last experienced solicitors where as the client you are constantly chasing and pushing. Mckeag & co have been a breath of fresh air, I cannot express how amazing Chris Thomson has been in getting my sale through after the chain very nearly collapsed due to my seller! All along I have been kept informed , he has been exceptional. I will recommend them to anyone going forward and will not use any other firm in the future .

Chris and his team at McKeag and Co. dealt with the selling and buying for our recent move. We anticipated things might take a bit longer due to Covid, but the conveyancing team were proactive and quick with both their work on our behalf and their replies to our questions throughout. For competence, approachability, sensible advice and price we couldn't fault them. A five star team!

I write this review as a director of an estate agency and I can safely say we have a lot of experience with solicitor firms. Selling the property is the easy bit - sales progression is another matter and you need a trusted and quality firm in your corner. It's not about referral fees for us. We pride our own business in offering the very best service and in order to do that our 'go to' solicitor firm is Mckeags. Chris Thomson is highly knowledgeable and knows his stuff in all aspects of the field. We are based in Great Park and it has its fair share of conveyancing difficulties due to the nature of how things are set up when the estate was built plus being an ongoing development - when we sell a property here - we tell our clients you need Mckeags on the job (road adoption indemnities, sections agreement requests, management company info, deeds of variation, ancient rent charges - it all gets sorted out and when you use Chris for your sale your paperwork is rock solid). Solicitors do get very busy and there will be times when they are working through files however we can safely say that when needs must - we get answers and solutions very quickly. They have worked consistently through the covid pandemic where others have fallen apart. Sometimes getting a sale to go through can take longer than you hope however there are many influencing factors. We've never found Mckeags to be anything other than a necessity. Choose local and the fees are very reasonable.
