Solicitor Apprentice at Hewitts

Anna Sowerby

Solicitor Apprentice

Anna joined Hewitts Solicitors as a Business Administrative Apprentice in 2018. She quickly realised that she had a passion for the law and progressed through secretarial work to become a fee earner in the Mental Health team. During this time Anna gained experience of advocacy for patients at Hospital Managers’ Hearings and supporting them throughout the Tribunal process. More recently, Anna has joined the Care Team in the Family Department at Hewitts and has widened her area of legal practice to include family work. She uses the advocacy skills she has acquired in representing private individuals involved in Public Law Proceedings. Academically, she is continuing her studies as one of the first successful applicants to join the Solicitor Apprenticeship Scheme run by Northumbria University. This will allow Anna to qualify work towards qualifying as a Solicitor whilst continuing in legal practice
