⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely Outstanding Service from Willets & Co - Kerry & Kerr
When my husband and I decided to buy his brother (co-owner) out of a property originally owned jointly in accordance with their late grandfather’s wishes, we expected a simple transfer of equity process. Both my husband and his brother owned the property 50/50. Me and my husband wanted to buy him out. Unfortunately, we originally appointed solicitors who failed to complete this straightforward process. It was apparently their company policy and also a lack of understanding of the fundamental rules of Land Registry for them to deal with a property that had a form A restriction in place. They wanted this removed before a ToE could take place. Despite us originally thinking that this was the only way to proceed, we now know that this was an unnecessary assignment and was never an issue to begin with. Our first appointed solicitors refused to assist us because of said form A restriction that was dated back in 1998. Despite this not generally being an issue for a transfer of equity, it was an issue for them and against company policy in order to proceed to completion. This caused unnecessary delays and also put our mortgage offer at serious risk. At that point, we needed a team we could trust — and we turned to Willets & Co again.
