I used this firm for both probate and conveyancing following the death of a parent. They were not helpful, made several mistakes and were slow and uninformed. I went to this firm on a recommendation as I believe in supporting local business, but would never carry this forward. One member of staff however, was extremely good once she discovered the issues and for this reason I give 2 stars. The firm needs to overhaul its outdated practices. One of the most distressing things was being called by the wrong name with the wrong salutation, an easy thing to get right! Legal advice was poor and I found out more myself doing research. Not good I am afraid.

Awful company - if I could give zero stars I would. I can list everything wrong with this business but I don’t think they’d care enough to take it in. Very backwards way of operating and most definitely did not have my best interests in mind throughout my sale and purchase in 2023. I’ve given them multiple opportunities to make up for their mistakes, hence not reviewing until now, but they’re so bitter! As the experts, I shouldn’t have to keep you in check regarding retaining funds (which you eventually sorted) and clauses in my lease (which you’ve chosen to ignore) but here we are. I fully expect a snarky response to this review which will show their true colours. Avoid and find yourself a reputable company that actually care! — Edit in response to Owen Evan’s reply on my Google Review as they’ll no doubt try to sweep this one under the carpet too - I have complained multiple times to Lin Cane when things have come to light since the transaction completed. Obviously my file is not up to date - another example of how you haven’t managed my case very well. Funnily enough I copied you into an email on 20/02/2023 expressing how dissatisfied I was with the service and called you out directly asking for an explanation - not a single word back from you. Please do not attempt to diminish my poor experience with your company - you have failed to act in my best interest and take no accountability. During the transaction, I expected you to bring matters to my attention (such as retaining funds or the fact my ground rent isn’t capped) but you never did, hence having to come back to you various times. If you were truly sorry you’d look into the pending complaint sitting in Lin’s inbox from 11/07/24 that’s been ignored, and take responsibility that you’ve let me down. I’ve given you plenty of opportunities to put things right and haven’t publicly aired my experience until now. You should know better and should do better for your clients!

Selling a property and these are who got chosen. What a mistake, not only do they not respond when needed but have 4 different people emailing you so nothing is together. They have over charged us but don't wish to correct their mistake or even to see it. Avoid these unless thief's

Shocking service, rude, dismissive and inept. They treat their clients with utter contempt. Phone calls do not get returned, emails get printed out and put in with the post ‘for fairness’ (yes this is 2021). They’ve some geezer who thinks he’s smart to write to clients in Shakespearean English (Dear Madam, at the request of Jenny Plumb of this office, we should be grateful if you could kindly arrange to remit to us additional monies in the sum of £58.00 in respect of the searches that are available to purchase.) Final straw - I completed on my purchase today as confirmed by the estate agents - no word from my conveyancing solicitors Almy & Thomas (and it is now 9pm) - clearly they’ve got their fee from me why would they need to actually communicate with me?
