I live in Scotland and needed an English Solicitor to help me with a number of issues relating to English Law. My parent had previously used Bottrills to set up their will and power of attorney and then probate, all of which was done efficiently. So I decide to see if they could help me set up a legal charge so I could help a member of my family. I was dealing with Ruth Rush, who is extremely knowledgeable and efficient and managed to sort out the charge quickly and with minimum hassle. I would highly recommend these solicitors

I engaged Bottrills to undertake a probate submission and two house sales. The initial instruction was handled efficiently and comprehensively with all subsequent communications and actions occurring in a timely manner. At no point did I ever feel that I lacked knowledge of the current position and everything was handled with complete professionalism. Not sure what else you would want from a solicitor!

Bottrills have acted for me on three separate house transactions and most recently a home purchase, which is a testament to how highly I regard and trust the standard of the service that Bottrills have provided to me. This purchase was a time pressured transaction with the vendor looking to move quickly. Ruth and Michelle were very pro-active and sent off instructions to the vendor's solicitors the very same day that they were instructed on this transaction and also promptly conducted the home searches. Michelle also set out very clearly what documentation I must complete and when and provided a very clear schedule of the costs I would incur. There were numerous documents to review for the sale, included a long and complex lease, searches and surveys that raised various concerns. Ruth reviewed all of the documentation with great scrutiny and raised very detailed queries with the vendor's solicitors to ensure any issues could be resolved. Ruth, importantly, explained what the key issues and risks of the purchase were, in a manner that I could easily understand and explained what it would mean for me in practical terms (including my rights and responsibilities under the lease for the property, and as a joint freeholder of the building) so ultimately, I could reach a decision on whether to continue with the purchase. Ruth and Michelle encouraged me to undertake the necessary surveys for the house, which helpfully revealed what repairs the house would require. Ruth also helpfully pointed out which areas of the survey would require further scrutiny with the vendors. Towards the end of the transaction, I was faced with pressure to exchange, despite a very important outstanding matter on purchasing a share of the freehold for the building. However, Ruth really helped to reduce the stress of this by going the extra mile to find a solution with the vendor's solicitors, even contacting third parties to ensure the issue of the freehold could be resolved and negotiating an amendment to the contract to enable exchange to take place on time. Buying a home can be a difficult and stressful time, however both Ruth and Michelle ensured the process was as seamless as possible. They were always responsive to my queries and those of the estate agent and vendor's solicitors with the utmost professionalism and care (Ruth even took calls from me outside working hours to discuss matters that were worrying me). Importantly, Ruth was very persistent in ensuring that all queries raised in relation to the transaction were answered and resolved, personally taking great care to look after my interests in the purchase so that I could make an informed decision about continuing with the purchase considering all factors important factors. I am very grateful to Ruth and Michelle for the great care, speed and professional manner in which they handled my house purchase, I would highly recommend this Firm to others and will definitely use Bottrills for my next sale or purchase!

My in laws used Bottrills to purchase their new house. They were extremely pleased with the service as nothing was too much trouble for Ruth and Michelle. The cost was good and everything was explained to them regarding any extra costs that were added. The whole transaction was quick and effortless. Highly recommend Bottrills to act for them again.
