Poor, unprofessional, irresponsible service
Mita Shah solicitor in Fellowes solicitors is irresponsible very lazy and unprofessional. I have been waiting for deeds on the property I bought in 2022.
She was asking for extra money in case she has to do extra work. She promised to refund. I have never received the money back yet. Only excuses and promises that it will be done soon.
I will not recommend her at all.

Everything she did was incorrect
The worst legal experience I have ever had. Misleads you on progress and incorrectly advises on activities completed. I had to proof read her documents and notify the mistakes.

Worse solicitor service I have experienced
I have used a lot of solicitors over the last 20 years. Mita Shah has got to be the most unprofessional un responsive alleged solicitor I have used. Due to the delay in responding to communication I lost the property I was buying and selling. Initially my property buyer pulled out, and then the seller withdrew. I had to prompt her and Umut to send documents over. I have asked for the refund of my deposit, and no surprise, no response from her. I wonder if she even exists. Judging from the other reviews, she ought to be barred.

Very Slow, overcharged, nearly lost me the sale
I initially paid £200 fee to start with and this should have been a warning. I dealt with Mia Shah, and her response was poor at the outset and I almost asked for my money back but she assured me it was a temporary hiccup and that things would progress as fast as I responded to questions and supplied information. I supplied all the information they needed within about 4 days and they advised me it might be some time before anything happened as the buyer would have to get a mortgage approval. I explained by email that they already had finance in place.
After about 4 weeks I was advised by the buyer that his solicitor had carried out all the searches but were awaiting answers to their enquiries. I sent an email to Mita Shah about this but did not get a response for 2 weeks. I asked the buyer for details of when his solicitor had sent the email regarding enquiries and found it had been 6 weeks prior. I sent an email and made several phone calls to ‘reception’ as I could not speak to Mita Shah direct unless she rang me. She apologised and then went through a lot of the questions which could mostly have been answered if she had gone through my responses to enquiries herself.
She advised she would sent responses off to the buyers solicitor. After about 5 days the buyer called me again to advise his solicitor still had not received requested documents, so I sent him copies to pass onto his solicitor. I also found that some of the responses by my solicitor had been incorrect so I sent him the correct information.
I at this stage told Mita Shah that the finance offer would expire in about 6 weeks and she needed to be progressing matters and supply a draft contract to the buyer’s solicitor. I was continually chasing Mita Shah to supply information to the buyer’s solicitor as she clearly wasn’t doing what she said she was. I asked if I could be transferred to someone else in the firm who had more time as it was clear she did not have time to deal with matters. I did not get a response to this request .
Eventually despite constant chasing the buyers solicitor got the information they wanted but it had taken from mid October to mid December for him to get the information, in practical terms two months.
A completion date was agreed but this was missed as a redemption statement had not been obtained by Mita Shah. Fortunately one was received the following day, but if it had not been, then the transaction would have fallen through as the buyers finance offer expired in two days and monies would have had to be sent back to the bank and there would have been insufficient time to draw them down again.
After two weeks I still had not received a completion statement, so had to request one which I did get and then found that they had charged me a TT fee for a transfer of monies to me even though I had requested a cheque or BACS payment on their questionnaire form and an extra fee for exchange and completion on the same day which meant that I ended up paying almost double the fees that were agreed and meaning that far from being the cheapest when I got quotes through Conveyancing Index, they became probably about number 10 in terms of costs.
Would not touch them again and would not recommend them.

Solicitor good but
Our experience with Fellows has not been a very good one. Our solicitor was fine but found it difficult to actually speak to her. Always put through to a switchboard as always in a meeting and told she would call me. To be fair probably 50% of the time she did but always felt it was a rushed phone call at the end of the day. Also be aware of the hidden charges. We are still awaiting our cahback from the mortgage company 5 weeks after completion. I’m sorry but that is not good enough. Overall would not recommend or use again

Unresponsive to emails, slow and at time unprofessional
My partner and I used Fellowes for conveyancing. We unfortunately had to pull out of the sale of the property but the service we had was pretty poor. Our solicitor at times would at times take a week or longer to respond to emails even with 2 or 3 chaser emails. When she did email, it appeared to be quickly drafted and barely made sense consisting of numerous errors. Our local searches took almost 3 weeks to complete which is an incredibly long time frame.
When we spoke to our solicitor she was very helpful and clearly understood this area of law so I can't complain about the standard of work but here conduct in the way it was carried out was unprofessional. Paying this much I should not have to chase for responses and taking over a week to respond is unacceptable.
