Paula Butterworth places importance on supporting the individual client and her aim is to work from the outset to establish a close and supportive working relationship with an emphasis on excellent customer service and satisfaction. Paula aims to assist all clients to explore the possibility of an early settlement but also has experience of taking cases to a final hearing which is sometimes necessary. Paula trained and qualified as a solicitor in 1997 with niche high street practice Hudson Freeman Berg Solicitors in Gloucester Place, London. Paula practised exclusively in the Family Law department following qualification and gained a wide experience of all areas of family law. Paula joined Rayden Solicitors in 2008 becoming an associate in 2011 and a partner in 2015. Paula has a wide experience of divorce, financial disputes and Children Act proceedings. She is also specialised in obtaining injunctions under the Family Law Act to protect against domestic violence and freezing orders to protect against the dissipation of financial assets. Paula is experienced in Collaborative law and is a member of Resolution. Paula is based in our Harpenden office.

Paula Butterworth and Paige Gibbons at Rayden Solicitors represented me in complex private children's proceedings at Milton Keynes Family Court. The case involved a Section 37 investigation, which is as serious as family proceedings get. Throughout the process, Paula provided strategic oversight while Paige managed day-to-day matters with precision. Everything was prepared meticulously, I was kept informed at every stage, and most importantly, my son's welfare remained at the heart of every decision. We achieved exactly the outcome I hoped for - 50/50 shared care with a progressive schedule and enforceable court orders. Family law can feel overwhelming, but having a team who combines legal expertise with genuine understanding makes all the difference. Rayden Solicitors delivered when it mattered most. Highly recommended.

Raydens Harpenden have been exemplary as a firm of solicitors during my divorce and I would thoroughly recommend them. My lead solicitor Paula Butterworth was excellent. Their expertise is amazing and they have access to so many experts you need as you make your way through the maze that is divorce. You always get the sense they are completely working in your best interests and their support staff, from PAs to Paralegals to trainee solicitors are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I cannot thank them enough for a really good outcome to what was an extremely difficult situation.
