Ann joined the family team in September 2001 and is based in the Skipton office. She has worked in the legal field since 1987, when she began working for a large international firm in their London office. Ann attended the College of Law in Chester to complete the Legal Practice Course and, after returning south, subsequently qualified as a solicitor in 1997 whilst working for a medium sized practice based in the south east. Having been born in the north west, Ann returned to live in Lancashire in 2001 and has worked for a number of prominent local firms of solicitors before joining Walker Foster. Ann has a wide experience in dealing with all aspects of family law. She has been a member of the Law Society’s Advanced Family Law panel for a number of years and her specialisms are matrimonial finances and private law children matters. Ann endeavours to adopt a pragmatic and creative approach to problem solving around family law issues, always with an eye to the bigger picture and very much tailoring her advice to her client’s individual circumstances. No two cases are identical and Ann feels that it is important to listen carefully to each client’s objectives and to get to know them well during the course of their matter in order to deliver an outcome that suits the client and their family’s needs, both in the short and long term. She is empathic and a great listener but also practical and pro-active with decades of experience in working to find solutions and outcomes for clients who will invariably be at an emotionally vulnerable time in their lives. When not at work Ann enjoys music, the open air, allotment gardening, crafting and holidays by the sea.
