I joined SEN Legal in March 2020 as a paralegal, having held roles in education and family law previously. Having successfully completed my Training Contract at the end of 2022, I now work alongside the other solicitors on aspects of SEND Law (with a particular interest in related social care issues), including applying for EHC Needs Assessments, all types of Appeals to the SEND Tribunal, and post-Appeal work, such as resolving funding and transport issues related to school placements. Prior to pursuing a career in law, I worked in industry and then took a prolonged family break to raise 3 children with SEND. I returned to work in 2016, initially volunteering with Coram Children’s Legal Centre, where I developed a detailed knowledge of both education and family law. The decision to specialise in Education Law was an easy one, allowing me to support parents and children / young people to achieve the education they deserve, while also drawing on my experience as a SEND parent.

    The experts who helped desperate parents & young person

    SEN legal have been vital to our circumstances and the only significant organisation that have actually helped in a timely manner, even with our LEA's underhanded tactics, and doing everything they could to delay our case despite overwhelming evidence. We have recently had to use SEN Legal again due to our child transitioning to specialist College with our LEA being underhanded a second time, removing sections of our child's EHCP without justification or evidence. Due to this we know that at each EHCP review from now on, we will be using SEN Legal to help our child (now a young adult) keep all the sections of their EHCP which they still need. We attribute our success to getting our child the right support they need to SEN legal.

    I am really satisfied and greatfull i found this solicitors which they helped me with my son case , they have done anything they could to win my son case in tribunal. Very knowledgeable and very smart people and i would recommend to any parents are dealing with the incompetence of Local Authorities and this solicitors they can help you . I am very disappointed we are in a country where you have to sue the Local Authorities to get the right help for the future of your kids.     Knowledgeable and professional

    Instructed Idhren Drew to help appeal my son's case and take it to Tribunal. We didn't end up going to Tribunal in the end as the LA allocated an appropriate school for my son. All my dealings with Idhren were great and she was really helpful and knowledgeable in talking us through the process, explaining the law and helping us to understand our rights. If I need legal advice in the future for my son's education I would definitely come to SEN Legal again and would recommend them.
