Overview Katie de la Motte is a Paralegal within BHP Law’s Commercial and Dispute Resolution teams based in Darlington. She supports the team on a wide range of commercial, property and business-related disputes, assisting solicitors with case preparation, legal research and client support. With a strong academic background and a growing interest in commercial and property-related law, Katie is developing a well-rounded understanding of contentious legal matters affecting both individuals and businesses. She is known for her proactive approach, strong attention to detail, and commitment to delivering high-quality support to colleagues and clients alike. Katie is passionate about building her legal career within dispute resolution and is focused on progressing towards qualification as a solicitor. Experience & background Katie holds a BA (Hons) in Classical Studies from Newcastle University and went on to complete her MA Law (Conversion) at the University of Law, Newcastle Campus. Her academic background has provided her with strong analytical, research and critical thinking skills, which she applies to her work in dispute resolution. She joined BHP Law with a clear interest in property and commercial law and has developed practical experience supporting solicitors across a variety of contentious matters. Her work includes assisting on commercial disputes, property-related litigation, and broader business conflicts, where she contributes to case preparation and client support. Katie is due to complete her studies in December and is focused on progressing her legal career within the firm, with the long-term ambition of qualifying as a solicitor.
