Gina joined the Renaissance Legal team in January 2020 where she specialises in private client work, helping families prepare for the future with Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Inheritance Tax Planning and Estate Administration. She also assists vulnerable clients making Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs) and helps clients in later life to prepare for the and provide for their family. Gina qualified as a solicitor in 2016, having completed a number of years as a paralegal and obtained a first class (Hons) degree in law (LLB) from the University of Kent in 2008. She then went on to obtain a distinction in the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law, London in 2009. Prior to joining Renaissance Legal, Gina spent time at a Hove-based firm where she undertook a range of legal work including landlord and tenant work, civil litigation, wills and estate administration, and contentious probate. Her passion for private client work led her to Renaissance Legal and the opportunity to help families with a disabled or vulnerable loved one. Aligning with Renaissance Legal’s own values Gina advises members at Carers Centre clinics and previously volunteered at the Brighton Unemployment Centre and Families Project. She also worked at the DWP Jobcentre Plus as an Enquiries Officer, advising and assisting people on a range of benefit and unemployment issues. Gina is an affiliate member of STEP and has recently achieved her STEP Advanced Certificate in Will Preparation Certificate.

    Will and setting up Trust

    Excellent specialist advice

    We opted to use Renaissance to help us set up a Disabled Persons Trust for our son who has SLD and ASD, following attendance at a Mencap webinar. We had previously approached a local solicitor specialising in Trusts, but realised quickly that their specific knowledge of DPT's was insufficient. Renaissance however have in depth knowledge of the law with vulnerable people, and understood the contexts families are dealing with. They were supportive and took time to explain every query (and there were many). We live in the North East and did everything via Zoom. Highly recommend for anyone looking for specialist advice for vulnerable relatives.

    An excellent experience.

    Following the death of my husband, my solicitor arranged my new Will and guided me in setting up a Trust with an appropriate Letter of Wishes to protect the interests of a family member. As I live a long way from the law firm ,which I chose for its special expertise in family matters, we were able to meet via Zoom. This was a great help as the meeting included two family members who were to serve as trustees. Due to other pressures, I was often slow to answer letters and return documents, but my solicitor r was always patient, friendly and helpful. When I sent questions my solicitor always replied promptly and comprehensively. In addition to the required work she made suggestions regarding things that I had not thought of, which I found very helpful. All the staff who answered the phone were very friendly, calm and confident which is so important at the first point of contact. I consider that it was very good value for money and no extra charge was made for my extra questions and the length of time I took to complete my tasks.

    I first met Philip at my house when my Wife was first diagnosed with Early onset Alzheimers Disease. He gave us some very good sound advice on a few financial matters. When my Wife passed away, just over two years ago I went back to Philip and he put me onto Gina in the Company to sort out my Wife's Probate.
