    Making our wills

    Really fabulous experience at AFG law when making our wills - these were first time wills for me and my husband and our lawyer Katrina Hurst explained everything so clearly, made the whole process smooth and pain free and struck the perfect balance between friendly and approachable and professional. We have used AFG for other legal matters in the past and will continue to do so in the future. Very highly recommended!

    We were recommended to use Katrina Hurst at AFG Law by our financial advice team. We wanted to get Lasting Power of Attorneys for each other, Financial and Health and also take the opportunity to update our Will's at the same time. From our first meeting, Katrina was friendly, engaging and extremely knowledgeable about all the processes involved. Her advice proved invaluable and the speed of her actions, particularly around such a busy time as Christmas was refreshing. Everything was completed as she had stated and at a price that was competitive for the works involved. We have dealt with other solicitors over time in the past and we would have no hesitation in recommending Katrina for any sort of legal work that you may require.     I was recommended AFG Law via an acquaintance after very negative previous experiences with solicitors local to me. I was prepared to travel to the next town on being told about how they had been great with the family of the acquaintance who had dealt with them for many years. After first contact was made via their website, I received a phone call very promptly. Appointments were arranged within the timescale I had and on meeting both Katrina and Hamza, I found them to be very professional as well as friendly. Everything was explained clearly and the different scenarios given around my circumstances and what was needed to be stated in my will. Even though the total charge was higher than the initial quote, they made certain to advise what the final cost would be and it was outlined what this covered. I'd be very happy to consider using AFG Law again for any legal matters that may arise in future.

    Our first appointment was meant to be with Anita Boardman but as she was in dispose her place was taken by Katrina Hurst, this was disappointing as I feel we should have been given the option to rearrange, this is no disrespect to Katrina Hurst who conducted herself well in light of our disquiet. The room for the meeting was not big enough for the numbers attending, with no ventilation and not enough access to water to drink. At the next meeting which was immediately post lunch we arrived 5 minutes prior to find the doors locked and standing in the rain, not satisfactory and easily avoided. We felt on several occasions that we were driving the process and asking for guidance when required. We received your invoice even before we had finalised the process, ie., the return of the documents hadn’t been discussed . Very rare also to be asked for a bill to be paid within 14 days, which duly done anyway. Disappointing not to have a final meeting for the handover our documents and to clarify the final details of concern to us. This was a very new process to us and a complicated one for you possibly. Katrina Hurst was always polite and courteous and we wish her well in her career.
