Chantelle is a trainee solicitor in the Childcare department, where she trains under Partner and Law Society Children Panel Member Meriel East. Chantelle assists in public law case that involve Care Orders, Special Guardianship Orders, Deprivation of Liberty Orders, representing parents and Children’s Guardians. These cases are often complex and sensitive in nature. Chantelle also assists in private law cases, representing parents who are seeking orders from the court in respect of who the child should live and spend time with. Chantelle believes the importance of empathy and clear communication, striving to provide both guardian and support to clients, whilst maintaining a child focused approach to all cases. Chantelle deals with drafting applications, statements and preparing for court and attending court hearings. She also attends meeting with or on behalf of clients, such as Looked After Children Reviews, Child Protection Conferences and Public Law Outline proceedings. Chantelle has worked closely with Meriel East in very complex High Court matters, these types of cases are extremely complex and of a sensitive nature involving serious offences.
