Difficult to get hold of, rarely return calls or E-mails, slow and unprofessional. 5 months in to a remortgage and still none the wiser as to when we complete. Lots of mistakes are being made, and poor communication. I wouldn't recommend Mark Lloyd or this company

Can’t thank cook and Talbot enough, Didn’t even have to request an update we got one all the time, the app was so handy the little lorry would move closer to the house as you become closer to completion day. Even through covid19 cook and Talbot were so attentive and couldn’t do enough for you, so responsive to emails would receive s reply within half an hour of raising a query, other large conveyancing companies take between 2 to 3 weeks, I would highly recommend cook and Talbot to anyone and would definitely use again. Mark Lloyd and all the staff very friendly and helpful 5* thank you

I am honestly the last person to leave a negative review but the service I have received from Cook & Talbot was beyond appalling. I do not think that Mark Lloyd or his team should be in charge of anything so important as buying your dream house. There is an extremely long list of issues that have happened during the sale of our old house and a purchase of our new home. I do not have a time or strength to list every single one as I would run out of space but to give an example: 1) My passports were posted to me without paying for postage, just in an envelope– it was a pure luck that I have received it and it didn’t go missing. 2) We were obliged by contract to exchange by 2nd September 2019 but we didn’t exchange until 8th October 2019 and had to request an extension of our exclusivity agreement 3) They have missed out £20k (!!!) of builder contribution from the contract 4) They have once again missed out those £20k builder contribution from the completion statement!!! 5) Finally, I have been now waiting from 18th December for a cheque from them for £500 that I am owed and my phone calls are not being returned If you want a solicitor that is unreliable, you can never actually talk to them as they are too busy, none of your phone calls/emails to be returned, someone that doesn’t care and is incapable of doing accurate job then please do use Cook & Talbot. However, if you want to remain sane and have some trust in your solicitor, stay as far as possible from Cook & Talbot – this company will drain every ounce of energy that it’s in you.
