I had a mixed experience with Cook & Talbot. In the earlier stages of my purchase, Mark was helpful, responsive and moved things along quickly, which I appreciated as a first-time buyer. Unfortunately, when it came to completion week, my file appeared to be handed over to someone else and the service deteriorated significantly. Emails went unanswered for days at a critical stage of the transaction, my name was repeatedly misspelled, and I struggled to get updates despite the urgency of the situation. In the end, I had to involve the estate agent, mortgage adviser and the vendors to escalate matters before the purchase seemed to receive the attention it needed. As a first-time buyer, I also found communication disappointing throughout the process. In several interactions I felt questions were met with quite abrupt responses, and there was little willingness to explain the process or provide reassurance. By contrast, my mortgage adviser and other parties involved in the transaction were consistently patient, responsive and happy to help me understand what was happening. What frustrated me most was that once completion took place and fees had been paid, communication essentially stopped altogether. Given that completion is the part of the process most clients remember, it was disappointing that my lasting impression was one of poor communication and a lack of client care. While there were some positives early on, I would not recommend Cook & Talbot based on my overall experience.

One star is too generous, they were totally inept and missed some fundamentals such as the need for deeds of variation that I had to point out on multiple occasions. There was no urgency in their service whatsoever until 2 weekend before my mortgage offer was about to expire and even then they were still telling me they had to delay things so I had time to move. I already lived in the property which they were obviously well aware of

I have just completed on my latest investment property purchase and once again I used the services of Caitlin Maher who works at Cook & Talbot LTD Southport Branch. In life you have many bad experiences and make sure you leave that review in detail , but equally when you have great experiences - you should take time out to give praise were its due. Hence, I would highly recommend anyone looking for a prompt professionally company for convincing support , to look no further that Cook & Talbot LTD , equally I would if possible ask for Caitlin to lead your purchase in what is a very stressful process (but she makes it as stress free as possible).
